Manchester United aim to keep talented youngster despite first team hurdle

Manchester United are making positive developments towards getting Isak Hansen-Aaoren tied down to a new deal at Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old has impressed in the academy after joining the club in the summer of 2020, arriving the same summer as Alejandro Garnacho.

Hansen-Aaoren has also seen fellow academy midfielder Kobbie Mainoo push on into the first-team, although his opportunities have yet to come and he needs to be patient. He has yet to earn his full debut for the club but played a number of professional fixtures for his former club, Tromsø, at the age of 15.

There is a decision to be made because Hansen-Aaoren only has six months remaining on his current deal at United. The lack of first team opportunities under Erik ten Hag could lead to the player moving elsewhere.

For instance, Hansen-Aaoren’s own personal trainer advised a move away, and reports have stated that there is interested in his signature too.

A new report from UtdDistrict claims there has are positive developments in terms of the young Norwegian signing a new deal with United.

Nothing has been signed yet, but it is understood that the club do not want to lose the youngster and that he has been offered a ‘significant’ contract by the Reds. There are bound to be questions about the midfielder’s integration into the first team, which could prove to be a hurdle, though he might also be sent on loan like Joe Hugill.
