Zlatan Ibrahimovic shows blatant ignorance when asked about Glazers

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a lot of things – and one of those is being completely out of touch with the Manchester United ownership situation.

The former Manchester United striker, who spent two years at Old Trafford between 2016-2018, has unapologetically questioned fans that criticise the Glazer family following the club’s summer recruitment.

In an interview with detestable reporter Piers Morgan, the 42-year-old stood up for the Glazer family because of the amount of money they allocated to the club in the summer.

United spent over £150m on Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund – but it was our own money. The Glazers have never put a penny of their own into the club. Instead, they’ve spent the past 18-years leaching off the back. It’s poor of Ibrahimovic to suggest our protests are unwarranted.

“I think now in Man United, I don’t know, there are some kind of demonstrations about the owners to sell it and that, but just a reminder, the owners are investing,” the former United striker said on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

“It is not like they are not investing because they brought in many players for a high amount of money.

“So I think it’s a little bit wrong saying that they are not doing what the fans expect them to do, then I don’t know what the real reason is behind everything.”

The Glazers are reportedly looking to sell the club, but the takeover process has been delayed after initial plans to welcome investment were announced by the American family last November.

It is understood that they have two interested bidders in Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Negotiations appear to have stalled with the future of the club unknown and that is a worry for fans, who all want rid of the Glazers.
