Watford in talks to sign Honduras star previously scouted by Manchester United

Watford are in talks to sign Aris Thessaloniki winger Luis Palma on an initial loan.

Palma is considered an upcoming star in the Honduras national team, with six caps to his name.

The reason this is anyway related to Manchester United is how the Daily Mail’s report – outlining Watford’s interest in a summer move – claims United had scouts watching the 23-year-old.

Palma scored 13 goals in 35 games for Greek side Aris.

That former led to interest from Rangers, however, the report claims initial talks took place but a deal failed to materialise.

That has made Watford the frontrunners to sign the winger.

Watford are looking to pay an initial £850,000 loan fee with the deal becoming permanent for £4.5m next year.

And, if United scouts liked what they seen from Palma, I don’t think Watford would be leading the race for his signature.
