Romano: Manchester United among six clubs interested in 20 y/o Dutch star

Manchester United are among six clubs monitoring PSV starlet Xavi Simons.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain included a buy-back clause when he departed France for the Eredivisie club in 2022.

Since then, he has received plaudits for his scintillating performances, development and quick transition to senior football.

Across the past season, Simons netted 22 goals and contributed 12 assists in 48 appearances.

Simons mulls over a summer move

In terms of the summer transfer window, the Netherlands international could be on the move. Romano confirmed his buy-back fee is just €6 million and can be activated throughout July only.

United, Arsenal, Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have all made their interest clear.

The decision is ultimately up to Simons and game time will certainly be a factor as he mulls over his future. Having been utilised by Ruud van Nistelrooy as a starter, he will not want to see that change at his next club.
