Arsenal eye shock move for ex-Man Utd star Daley Blind

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Daley Blind for a cut-price summer transfer.

Mikel Arteta may look to improve the Gunners’ defence in the summer by adding more quality to his squad via the transfer window.

To his credit, Arsenal kept consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time in over 10 months, but there’s a lot of work cut out for the Spaniard.

Arsenal are set to miss out on Champions League football again, yet that might not impact their apparent pursuit of Blind.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Arsenal are one of a number of teams monitoring the ex-Man Utd defender’s situation at Ajax.

As a midfielder who can also play at the back, Blind is seen as a unique talent in the market, with great technical qualities.

But if this report is correct, will Blind reject any potential switch to the Gunners due to his former Old Trafford allegiance?

He had a terrific season in Ajax last season as they reached the Champions League semi-finals. When things didn’t quite go to plan in England, he was welcomed back in Amsterdam with open arms and is considered an important player.

The Dutch international moved back to Ajax because he was surplus to requirements. He doesn’t owe us anything.
