Man Utd youngster makes training return after cancer treatment

Manchester United U23 defender Max Taylor has made an incredible return to full training.

After spending over 11 months on the sidelines, the 19-year-old has made his comeback after responding successfully to cancer treatment.

Fighting cancer is a daunting battle for anybody but this youngster kept fighting and has come out of the other side of the tunnel with the support of everyone at the club.

Reflecting on his journey, Taylor told ManUtd.com: “I feel immensely proud and happy to be back on the training pitch with my team-mates and friends.

“Without the invaluable support of my family, team-mates and, of course, the nurses and doctors, my return to training at this stage would not have been possible.

“i want to thank all of the club’s medical and sports-science staff that I have worked with throughout my rehabilitation.

“The next step is to continue working hard in the gym, and out on the grass, so hopefully make my return on the pitch.”

First-team star Jesse Lingard was one of the first to send a tweet showing his delight at Taylor’s return.
