Crystal Palace make PL history with late win over Man Utd

Crystal Palace’s late win over Manchester United at Old Trafford secured a piece of Premier League history for the visiting club.

Today’s result marks the first time ever that the Red Devils have been beaten in a home league match with a stoppage time goal, in the Premier League era.

United have become known for winning games late on, but not so much when it comes to losing at home.

It’s certainly a feeling we don’t want to witness again for some time but the signs are this season will be full of inconsistency as far as United are concerned.

The tweet below from Opta shows it’s only the second time in the Premier League era that United have been beaten by a stoppage time winner (Arsenal away 2007).

United have four points from their first three league games this season. It should be seven at least.
