Anthony Martial has explained how he and Marcus Rashford are in competition at Manchester United. to see who is the best goalscorer.
The Frenchman has made a flying start to the season in his new central role under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scoring two goals in as many games.
Rashford also netted two on the opening day against Chelsea; Solskjaer is relying on the pair this season and so far they have delivered in front of goal.
And Martial has revealed that the attackers compete in training to try and get one up on each other.

“At training, we have this competition between us about scoring goals,” he told Sky Sports.
“We measure who does the best finishing and who scores the most. ‘Who’s winning? Well, that depends… Sometimes it’s him, sometimes it’s me.
“In games, Marcus likes to play in the middle, like me. I don’t mind dropping off, dropping out, we interchange during games. ‘It doesn’t bother me to let him take the lead occasionally. ‘It helps us to terrorise opposition defences and I hope we can keep it up over the course of the season.”
It’s great to see a rivalry between the pair in training as each look to develop and improve. Solskjaer has given Martial the responsibility he has craved in the centre forward role this season, and it’s now up to the 23-year-old to prove that he has what it takes to lead United’s attack.
But in Solskjaer’s fluid style of play, Martial can drift wide, allowing Rashford to come central, a frightening proposition for defences.
We hope the pair can continue their goalscoring form on Saturday when the Reds face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Martial will be hoping to join Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Dwight Yorke and Wayne Rooney in the list of United forwards to score in the opening three Premier League games.
