(Photos) Man Utd star Jesse Lingard makes classy gesture to local football team

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has surprised local side Whalley range AFC with new kits and training gear for the new season.

It’s a great gesture from Lingard, who shocked the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur Football League side by arriving at a training session and giving out new strips, jackets and t-shirts ahead of the new campaign.

The 26-year-old featured in United’s 4-0 demotion of Chelsea on Sunday, but took some time out here to give back to the local community.

Lingard is often crucified in the media for the way he acts on social media; his antics are often seen as unprofessional or disrespectful.

But what can’t be denied about Lingard is that he is humble about what he has achieved and often engages with local fans to give back.
