Former Man Utd striker joins Premier League side on free transfer

Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has joined Watford on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old has endured an injury plagued career and was released at the end of the season by Arsenal.

The transfer to Javi Gracia’s side looks a good one for Welbeck who will be desperately hoping to stay fit to play regular first-team football again.

Welbeck joins Andre Gray and Troy Deeney as Gracia’s attacking options, as Watford look to build on last season’s 14th place finish.

It never worked out for the Englishman at Old Trafford, despite showing some early promise under Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, Watford have acquired a tireless runner that has an impressive 16 national team goals.

We wish Danny the best of luck in his new move to the Hornets.
