Man Utd keep tabs on 17-year-old looking to break into Marseille’s first team

Manchester United are one of several clubs interested in signing Marseille starlet Isaac Lihadji, according to reports in France.

The 17-year-old is held in high regard in the French club’s youth academy and United have already made some teenage signings to join the youth teams ahead of next season in attempt to revamp their own academy.

Lihadji has one year remaining on his youth contract with the Ligue 1 outfit, so the time will soon come for him to put pen to paper over a professional deal.

La Provence in France claim United, Barcelona and Everton are all keeping tabs on the winger.

It is alleged that his representatives held talks with Marseille last month but an agreement is still some way off.

The France U-17 international is apparently happy to stay at Marseille once he is guaranteed first team opportunities in the coming season.

Lihadji should feel optimistic about his chances of achieving that this season after featuring for Andre Villas-Boas’ side in pre-season – coming on as a substitute at half-time in last week’s 8-1 win over DC United.
