Dybala latest: ‘Cautious optimism’ that Man Utd transfer swap will be completed

According to reports, discussions have continued today between Manchester United and Juventus over the possible swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala.

Respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that officials from the Reds and the Serie A Champions are both in London along with the players agents to find a solution for the deal.

It is said that both parties are hoping to complete the swap deal and there is a ‘cautious optimism’ within the negotiations.

With just days until the transfer window shuts, time is running out for the Reds to complete what seems like a complex deal between the two clubs.

Dybala is expected to hold talks with new Juventus boss Mauricio Sarri about his role at the club, and a decision could be made on his future with the outcome of these discussions. It is still unclear whether the Argentina international would be keen on a switch to Manchester.

However, the 25-year-old would certainly be an exciting addition for fans at Old Trafford, albeit a rather unexpected one at this stage of the window. Dybala can operate on the right-wing in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fluid system but is predominantly effective through the middle.

Meanwhile, it seems as if Lukaku is no longer in Solskjaer’s plans and it looks inevitable the Belgian will leave whether or not Dybala moves to Old Trafford in a potential swap deal.
