According to reports in Portugal, Manchester United are finally set to make an opening offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer, yet little progress seems to have been made on a move for the 24-year-old.
However, Portuguese publication Record , as cited by Sport Witness, now claim that the Reds will finally make an opening offer of €62m for Fernandes.

They claim the process could have ‘significant advancements’ in the next week, but Sporting are still holding out for €70m for their star midfielder.
It seems as though we have been waiting on these ‘advancements’ on a move for Fernandes all summer. It’s difficult to understand why the Reds have not wrapped up a deal for the Portuguese international if they are indeed interested in his signature.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately needs at least one midfield addition this summer following the recent departures of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. The Reds lacked cutting edge in the final third last season and Fernandes could be the perfect creative spark to bridge the gap between midfield and attack.
Fernandes score 32 goals for Sporting last season and would be a perfect addition for Solskjaer, at what is a fairly reasonable asking price.
Let’s hope significant movements are actually made in the deal and the Portuguese international can be confirmed as a United player with under three weeks until the transfer window shuts.
