Galatasary eye ‘statement’ signing of Man Utd midfielder on loan

Reports in Turkey suggest Galatasary want to sign Manchester United midfielder Fred this summer.

According to Fotomac, as cited by Sport Witness, the Turkish side have offered the Reds a €2m loan fee for the Brazilian midfielder.

The report states that Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is a big fan of Fred and has told vice president Abdurrahim Albayrakd that he would be a ‘statement’ signing.

Fred didn’t enjoy a good start to his United career last term, only making 17 appearances for the Reds.

The Brazilian midfielder showed glimpses of why he was brought to Old Trafford from Shaktar Donestk, but his performances were inconsistent and he was often found wanting in possession.

However, it would be a shame to see Fred go and not given a chance to thrive next season. The Brazilian has the ability to turn defence to attack which could be useful for Solskjaer next season as he hopes to utilise speedy players such as new signing Daniel James on the counter-attack.

Moreover, Fred is currently one of only a handful of midfield options at Solskjaer’s disposal and the Reds will have to make at least two midfield additions to think about letting the 26-year-old go out on loan this summer.Wer
