Man Utd transfers: Last-gasp bid for Griezmann touted, Barça ace told he can leave, Napoli face losing out on €55m playmaker

Manchester United are today being linked with three big midfield players currently based in Spain.

Antoine Griezmann’s move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona is heating up, which is probably the reason United have been thrown back into the mix, but we’ll cite the report nonetheless.

The Sun claims United will make a last-gasp bid for the France international and could break the their own transfer record by offering £95m in exchange for the Atleti forward.

Quotes from yesterday from the Atleti CEO suggested that Griezmann is poised to complete his transfer to Barcelona in the coming weeks, as per AS, but we’re simply being told not to rule out a late approach from the Red Devils, as per the report from The Sun.

Secondly, the brilliant Ivan Rakitic, who Cadena Ser claims has met with Barcelona’s general manager this week and it was decided he could leave the club.

It will obviously take an appropriate offer to prize the Croatian away from Camp Nou, but he’s not a player I’d turn my nose up at!

And finally, the third big name United have been linked with today is James Rodriquez of Real Madrid. The Colombian hasn’t really reached the heights many imagined he would following the 2014 World Cup, but he’s still a star regardless. You will find few players who can bend a ball into the back of the net quite like James.

Gazzetta claim that Napoli are interested in signing the playmaker but are yet to respond to Real Madrid’s demand of €55m.

It is, therefore, suggested that United could take advantage of Napoli’s uncertainty and sign James.

Though I find the final story the least believable of the lot!

They may as well throw Paulo Dybala in while they’re at it.
