Man Utd ‘in discussions’ with Lyon over in-demand midfielder

The latest reports in France suggest Manchester United may be about to make a move for highly-rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Telefoot claims United are in talks with the Ligue 1 club – as are Juventus and Tottenham.

Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has previously said that both United and Manchester City had made enquiries for the player, as per Sky Sports, who received a call-up to the France senior squad last October.

After losing Marouane Fellaini in January and Ander Herrera this month on an expiring contract, United should be looking to sign two midfielders this summer, better than both players they’ve recently lost.

There’s also a possibility that United will lose another midfielder this summer, with Paul Pogba forever linked with a move to Real Madrid. If that happens, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must ensure he signs quality.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Ndombele but haven’t seen enough to pass my own judgement.
