Man Utd could still sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann

Apparently there’s still a chance Manchester United could sign Atletico Madrid talisman Antoine Griezmann this summer.

The Independent linked with the French forward with a move to Old Trafford back in May, with the player making it clear he will leave his current club.

Griezmann has been seen as one of the best in his position in recent seasons and has previously been linked with mega-money moves to United and Barcelona, only to decide to stay at Atleti but it now looks like he will finally move on.

The France international would be a solid improvement on United flop Alexis Sanchez, while Romelu Lukaku is being strongly linked with Inter Milan, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Signing Griezmann as Lukaku’s replacement could go down as a great bit of business. The 28-year-old has himself responded to questions over his future by admitting he might not stay in Spain, leaving other options, such as a move to the Premier League, wide open.

“There’s a need for patience, as it’s still soon,” Griezmann is quoted by The Mirror. “I want my future to be decided more than anyone, but there’s a need to wait. I don’t know if I’ll remain in Spain. Maybe in two weeks we’ll know something. I just want to play football and have fun.”

No doubt PSG will enter the race to sign Griezmann too.
