Inter negotiate terms with Romelu Lukaku as Man Utd demand £60m and attacking ace in exchange

A number of players were left unhappy when Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League and missed out on a place in the Champions League.

One of those is said to be Romelu Lukaku, who is alleged to have reservations about United being able to compete in Europe’s biggest competition anytime soon, but one should look to Liverpool, who just two years ago looked nowhere near being European champions.

The Scousers reached the final last year – losing to Real Madrid in Kyiv – but this year’s final saw Jurgen Klopp’s men overturn Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

With Lukaku unhappy about United’s current situation, a move to Italy may be on the cards.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is said to be an admirer of the Belgian striker ever since trying to sign him at Chelsea.

According to Football Italia, Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello has already agreed on terms with the Serie A outfit worth around £7m per year.

But United won’t let the striker leave on the cheap and are demanding £60m for his signature.

That would still be a loss on the £75m fee the club paid two years ago, although Football Italia goes on to claim that the Reds have requested Croatian winger Ivan Perisic to make be part of the deal too.

Back in January, Calciomercato ran a report on Perisic receiving interest from Atletico Madrid as well as United, with the former Wolfsburg star being considered a target for United ever since José Mourinho initially arrived in 2016.
