Anthony Martial to sign five-year Man Utd deal this week, claims journalist

Manchester United have been working on contract talks with Anthony Martial for the best part of a year and finally things are beginning to take shape.

The French star’s future looked uncertain when José Mourinho appeared willing to sell the player in the summer, as reported by the Guardian in July, although a turnaround has seen things go in everyone’s favour.

Perhaps not working under a manager who doesn’t really fancy you helps as Martial has performed out of his skin under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in recent weeks.

Journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi claims Martial will sign the dotted line on Friday, while extending his Manchester United stay by an additional five-years which keeps him at Old Trafford until June 2024.

This comes as a huge relief for United to secure the future of a truly exceptional player. Aged 23, Martial has plenty of time to develop his game and became a star at Old Trafford.

He is certainly taking the right steps to achieve that.

Now, all we want to see is Martial signing the dotted line. That’s when it will be time to relax.
