Man Utd star set to sign new deal worth £400,000 p/w

According to The Sun, David de Gea is set to sign a new deal worth approximately £400,000 per week.

This will come as good news even though it’s been a week of tension at Manchester United. The Reds lost and played abysmally against both Valencia in the Champions League and rivals Liverpool in the Premier League. In both games, we were ultimately outclassed.

With no sense of direction currently at Old Trafford, as well as claims the Glazer family are actively trying to sell the club, it makes you wonder why De Gea would want to extend his stay at United?

Perhaps he knows his relationship with the fans won’t ever be matched elsewhere. The stick he got at the World Cup from his own country doesn’t compare to the everlasting affection from the United faithful.

Most players nowadays don’t give that much thought. But not De Gea.

Even the summer of 2016 when he came close to joining Real Madrid (the infamous fax machine), as per The Metro, we don’t recall any instances that De Gea could be deemed disrespectful towards the club, and when the transfer didn’t work out he got on with things and never made an issue over it.

The sooner Spanish Dave renews his contract at United the better.
