Glazer family actively trying to sell Man Utd, claims radio host

Phil Brown is not only a friend of Stretty News, he’s a reliable source when it comes to Manchester United news and through the power of social media he updates his followers on all things MUFC.

We wouldn’t run a report on Brown’s word if we didn’t trust him, so if you’re new to his work, don’t dismiss him as another ITK account. Though he may use his sarcasm against you into thinking that.

On Sunday night, an alarming post made its way on Twitter from the Beyond The Pitch radio host. It comes months after reports from Saudi Arabia suggested Mohammed bin Salman wants to buy Manchester United, as per The Sun.

Brown (@Malachians) tweeted the following: “Have been told that the Glazers are actively trying to sell the club at the moment, not a surprise obviously but it does explain a lot.”

Trying to weigh up how many fronts this makes sense on, here are two points that came to mind:

Jose Mourinho has not been sacked

The Glazers know sacking Mourinho means hiring a new manager. A new manager will demand funds. The owners only care about making the balance sheets look better, therefore, they’ll leave Mourinho’s compensation package to the next owners and will avoid spending as much they can in the meantime.

Trips to Saudi Arabia

We know the Glazers and United have been to Saudi Arabia. Avaram Glazer and the club’s managing director Richard Arnold were pictured cosying up to the big figure heads there, as per the Manchester Evening News.

There will be other signs too, no doubt, but these are the ones that jumped out when we first saw Brown’s tweet.

On a side note, I can’t stress how reliable Phil Brown has been in the past. If you follow him already, we suggest you do now. His updates are sporadic but always worthwhile. For Beyond The Pitch, he has previously interview Rafael Da Silva, Micky Thomas, Danny Higginbotham, Ben Thornley, Andy Cole, and many others.
