Various reports are suggesting Manchester United have launched a whopping £80 million bid to seal the signing of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Senegal international is quick, physically strong and elegant at the back, and is up there with the best defenders in football at the moment.
Given our difficult start to the season and incompetent defence, it makes perfect sense to chase the likes of Koulibaly. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to say that about our back four, eh?

Anyhow, Football Italia cites a number of sources stating United have made an offer, but the £80 million suggested won’t be enough to persuade Napoli to sell, with closer to £90 million likely to be demanded.
The report also suggests that the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City are interested in signing the 27-year-old.
Koulibaly would be an upgrade on every defender currently at Old Trafford, though it would be unfair to expect one defensive signing to fix a big issue, which also stems from having an ageing Nemanja Matic sitting in front of the back four.
