Juve set to target €35m-rated defender strongly linked with Man Utd

Manchester United face stiff competition if Jose Mourinho is truthfully targeting Nikola Milenkovic.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri already boasts a fantastic squad, one that has won all 10 games so far this season in all competitions, and one of their objectives is to win their eight consecutive Serie A title.

However, the Italian coach is said to be looking to bolster his defence with Andrea Barzagli turning 38 next year, while Leonardo Bonucci will be 32 and Giorgio Chiellini recently turning 34.

Although Juve still have Medhi Benatia and Daniele Rugani at their disposal, a long-term plan to replace those defensive stalwarts is reportedly in place.

Corriere dello Sport’s newspaper edition, cited by Calciomercato, claims that Fiorentina ace Milenkovic is on their radar and could cost up €35 million to prise away from their domestic rivals.

The 21-year-old impressed United manager Jose Mourinho, who watched from the stands as Serbia took on Montenegro, and it has been suggested that the Reds will also target Milenkovic, as per the Metro.

United need reinforcements in defence if they’ve any chance of progressing – whether that is with or without Mourinho in the hot seat.

It has also been touted that United reached out to Allegri about replacing Mourinho as manager.
