Pirlo talks up Juventus return for Pogba, but would Serie A giants be making a mistake?

Paul Pogba’s Juventus return would not be a surprising move for Andrea Pirlo. The former AC Milan and Juventus star played with the Frenchman during his time in Turin and believes Pogba could make a return to the Serie A giants.

“It wouldn’t be surprising to me,” Pirlo told Tuttosport, as per Calciomercato.

“Juventus always want to sign the best players and if one leaves the club I think they can sign Pogba once again.”

But, given his performances for United since 2016, will Juventus seriously consider paying more than what they received almost three years ago?

Perhaps his form for France will overrule that.

Pogba is also being linked with a move to La Liga champions Barcelona, as per The Express. That one is even more surprising given the type of players Barça usually attract or develop because the 25-year-old doesn’t necessarily fit that mould.

Real Madrid have changed their tune on Pogba and while we think he’d love the idea of move to the Bernabeu, they’re not going to see the value in such an inconsistent performer.

Is there a possibility of a U-turn for Pogba, Mourinho and United? As a fan, you would have to hope so, but how can you be convinced by the midfielder’s performances since returning from Turin?

For such a free spirit, Pogba has turned and made matters worse for him by going so public and playing devil’s advocate on his future.
