“I think he’s a Man United player” – Legend urges club to make big swoop

Wales boss Ryan Giggs believes Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale is made for Manchester United and says he would be ‘happy’ to see him move to Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds since admitting he will consider his future at the Bernabeu because of a lack of playing time.

Bale chose Madrid over Manchester when he left Tottenham in 2013 but United have bid twice since, failing on both attempts to their man.

Zinedine Zidane’s departure means Bale is increasingly likely to stay in Spain, although Giggs believes the forward is perfect for his old club.

“I’d be a happy United fan, that’s for sure,” Giggs told the South Morning China Post, as per the Metro.

“I think he’s a Man United player. I think the fans would love him. The fans would adore him but again, like I say, he’s at a club where he’s won three Champions Leagues so why would you leave?”

It will be intriguing to see what the new Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui does with Bale. We, of course, would love to have him at United.
