Ronaldo unhappy with Lopetegui appointment, asks agent to conduct return to Man Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo has long been a Manchester United legend and the Portugal star continues to be linked with a return to club where he made his name.

Just minutes after lifting his fifth Champions League, Ronaldo’s comments suggested his time may be up at the Bernabeu: “In coming days there’ll be answer about my future. It has been very nice playing for Real Madrid.”

Ronaldo has enjoyed an illustrious career in Spain. Added to the five Champions League triumphs, he has lifted the La Liga twice, the Copa Del Rey twice, the Spanish Super Cup twice and the FIFA World Club Championship on four occasions.

However, rumours circulating this morning in Spain suggest that his stint in the Spanish capital has reached its conclusion.

Spanish outlet Don Balon have this morning reported that Ronaldo has his heart set on leaving Real Madrid this summer.

The report suggests that the Portuguese man has requested his agent Jorge Mendes to draw up a deal that will allow Ronaldo to return to Manchester United as he is unhappy with the appointment of Julen Lopetegui as the new Los Blancos boss.

This story seems to re-surface ever summer so it remains to be seen if it has legs. The fee being mentioned is upwards of €150 million.

But, despite his advancing years, there is no doubt that Ronaldo is still capable of the match-winning moments of brilliance which captured the hearts of so many United fans in his time in Manchester.
