Man Utd to miss out on 15-year-old sensation with Serie A giants swooping in

Juventus are on the very of completing the signing Lucas Gomes from under Manchester United’s nose, according to Calciomercato.

The Old Lady has completed the signing of the existing 15-year-old prospect, who the Italian outlet claim was close to joining United.

Gomes reportedly had trials with the Reds back in December, but we were apparently unable to complete his signing because of bureaucratic reasons.

The youngster is under contract with Swedish giants Malmoe and Juventus are now close to completing his signing.

Gomes, who plays as a striker, has already trained with Juventus’ youth team and was in Turin on Tuesday to undergo his medical with the club.

The Swede may remain on loan in Sweden for one more season before moving to Turin permanently because he is younger than 16.

Juventus will feel as though they’ve yet again got one over United.

Back in 2012, the Serie A giants took a young Paul Pogba from United and developed the Frenchman into a world beater to perform on the biggest stage.

Fast forward to 2016 when Juventus were able to sell Pogba for what was a world record transfer fee worth £89 million back to United.

It’s fair to say the Italians were laughing to the bank, but hopefully, this case doesn’t see a repeat of that. For our sake.
