Man Utd target won’t leave Spanish giants unless ‘chucked out the door’

It doesn’t sound like Samuel Umtiti will be leaving Barcelona anytime soon.

The France centre-back played in Monday night’s international friendly against the Republic of Ireland, which Didier Deschamps’ men won 2-0 in comfortable fashion.

Umtiti was rarely tested by Ireland’s attack but the Manchester United target spoke to L’Equipe after the game and said that the Catalans would have to “chuck him out” in order to get rid of him.

He has blossomed at Barcelona in recent months, enough to make his current €60 million release clause look cheap for clubs who are in search for a star centre-back.

Yet Umtiti doesn’t seem a bit fazed by all of this, telling L’Equipe that “I’m at the club that allowed me to realise my dream of playing there.

“I’m still under contract at the moment. So, for me to leave, either they throw me out of the door or I decide to leave.”

A valid point made by Umtiti. It’s about time we moved on.
