Man Utd yet to make move for primary summer target

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United yet to make an offer to sign Juventus full-back Alex Sandro.

Sandro, 27, joined Juventus from FC Porto in 2015 for €26 million. Since then, he has attracted interest from Premier League clubs such as Chelsea and United.

This season, the Brazil interest scored four games and recorded as many assists from 26 Serie A appearances, though that wasn’t enough to earn a call-up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Italian news outlet understands that United are yet to make an offer for Sando, amid reports linking him with an Old Trafford switch.

Sandro’s current contract is set to run out in the summer of 2020, but Juventus have yet to offer their left-back a renewal.

This is a player high on the list of many United fans this summer, with Jose Mourinho unwilling to hand the left-back role to Luke Shaw. Instead, the Portuguese tactician has preferred Ashley Young, a renowned winger, to take up defensive duties.

That should tell Shaw the end is near for his time at Old Trafford and, if he has any chance getting back into the England squad, the former Southampton defender needs to move somewhere he will get regular game time.

That won’t be at United.
