Jose Mourinho furious with two players after FA Cup final

According to the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho is angry that Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini did not make more of an effort to play in the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.

Lukaku was a substitute after telling Mourinho that he was not fit enough to start the final following an ankle injury, yet he was fit enough to make the bench.

Had Rashford picked up an injury 10 minutes into the game, what would Mourinho have done? Would Lukaku have kicked up a fuss about his injury and refused to come on in replace of the young England forward?

Fellaini, on the other hand, missed the last three games of the season with a knock and was not in the squad.

The report suggests Mourinho suspects both players were more worried about being fit for the World Cup than helping United win the FA Cup final, which is totally unacceptable if true.

“When a player tells you he is not ready to start, then the question is how many minutes do you think you can play,” said Mourinho after the final. “How can I convince a player who tells me he is not ready to play?”

Alan Tonge, formerly of United, makes a valid point. United pay Lukaku’s wages so we should come first. Not Belgium.
