Done Deal: Manchester United beat Chelsea and Liverpool to teenage sensation

Manchester United have reportedly beaten the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool to the signing of 15-year-old Martin Svidersky.

The 15-year-old from Presov celebrated the announcement with Instagram posts (see below) and he looks thrilled to say the least.

According to the Metro, Chelsea, Liverpool, Celtic, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund have all shown interest in Svidersky, but United have won the race to his signature.

The report states that Svidersky can already speak English, German, French, Greek and Slovakian – therefore, is just one language away from Romelu Lukaku’s incredible tally of six.

It has been evident these past 18-months that United’s academy is on a recruitment drive, and a lot of that ought to be down to the appointment of Nicky Butt as Head of Academy. The Class of 92 member has brought a fresh energy to the role, giving the club a renewed focus.

United take on Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday with the Reds needing a win to confirm their Champions League place for next season. Jose Mourinho’s aim is to gain 12 points from a possible 12 in his side’s final four games of the season to secure second spot – and, of course, to win the FA Cup against Chelsea at Wembley.

That would surely represent a successful season.
