True that Manchester United won the league 2008 – 09 but after Rafa’s ‘rant’ Liverpool did go to Old Trafford in March 2009 and absolutely battered Ferguson’s team (4-1). One of the best away performances I’ve seen in 50+ years of watching football. In my opinion although Liverpool finished second they were the best footballing side at the time.
