Manchester United and Bishop Auckland fans bid to commemorate all 23 who lost their lives in Munich Air Disaster

Manchester United and Bishop Auckland FC fans have come together to help donate money for bricks in a new commemorative wall, further cementing an indelible link between the two clubs. The bricks will commemorate all 23 people who lost their lives, after the Munich Air Disaster on 6th February 1958.

Following the tragedy, Bishop Auckland were asked if they could send players to help United field a team, which they duly obliged by sending three of their best players: Derek Lewin, Bobby Hardisty and Warren Bradley.

A Crowdfunding page has been created and any money raised over and above the target will be shared equally with a worthy cause nominated by United and the Bishop Auckland FC Supporters Club of which the proceeds will be used to support youth development with in the first-team squad.
