Report: United in talks with Italian defender

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester United are in talks with Torino right back Matteo Darmian.

In recent weeks Darmian has been linked closely with a move to Napoli but it now seems as though United have joined the race for the Italy international’s signature which could cost approximately €20 million.

It comes as no surprise to see Louis van Gaal in the market for a right back after a season of watching Antonio Valencia in the role. The United manager is clearly not a fan of Rafael Da Silva, although the Brazilian has not yet been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Fans have a close admiration with Rafael and a lot of us would be disappointed to see him sold this summer. Unlike a lot of footballers nowadays, the 24-year-old gets Manchester United and wears his heart on his sleeve.

Another season watching Valencia at right back could prove unbearable but having not seen much of Darmian play, I’m unsure whether he’s much of an upgrade. The fact he’s an actual right back offers some sort of comfort, mind.

  3. Whyte: Thank you for all your comments the last two days, man. Regarding this comment, though, I always compared our club to a shit shovel. It attracts a lot of shit and I’m not talking about Darmian before anything accuses me of doing so.

Perminus+254: Sounds good. Like I said above, the fact he’s an actual full back offers me comfort.
