David Moyes – When is enough enough?

All of the ABUs and rival supporters have waited over two decades for the Manchester United empire to crumple, and now, under David Moyes, they’re enjoying every bit of it.

Be honest with yourself; have you gone to a game at any point in the last twenty years less certain that the team would win, especially against lesser opposition? This season has seen a worrying trend of losing or perhaps drawing against teams who do not necessarily need to be at their best.

These results are not even the most worrying aspect of Moyes’ reign so far. In terms of football per se, it has been abysmal. An occasional decent performance is directly followed by a handful of lacklustre displays.

The team we see now lacks all of the qualities progressively instilled by Sir Alex Ferguson during his tenure. Fans this season have sought to rationalise this, resulting in various players being scapegoated. But the players don’t seem to care anymore. Not only has the fear factor disappeared for opposing sides, but it’s also vanished inside the dressing room. The attitude stinks.

Fans are in one of two contrasting groups: #MoyesIn or #MoyesOut. This dichotomy existed from the outset, and all of the mediocrity witnessed thereafter has increasingly strengthened the latter position. In reality United have made the transition to life without Ferguson more difficult than it needs to be by appointing Moyes, and not a manger that that possesses the proven pedigree to handle the biggest job in world football.

The appointment was initially met with a certain confusion. Today I happened upon a piece from Daniel Taylor, Chief Football Correspondent for The Guardian, who questioned whether Moyes was the right man back in May 2013. While I am well aware that plenty of Reds claim to be anti-Mourinho, Taylor echoes my sentiments when considering José’s far superior credentials, which indicated he was better qualified for the job.

Everything that could go wrong this season has gone wrong. First of all, the summer transfer window was an utter farce. The club completely failed to back Moyes, serving to compound his reputation as ‘Dithering Dave.’ Then there are the naive tactics, appalling press conferences, defensive lapses, profligacy in front of goal and goalkeeping calamities.

It has not been good enough and I cannot see him turning it around. As Paul Hayward wrote in the Telegraph, if players turn on a manager these days, there is no way back.

  1. Pretty much sums it up. Rooney has been love/hate with DM simply because he is a money player, and the 2 have a jilted past. As for the rest of the team, I think they are starting to finally get tired of DM pointing the finger at them; when he is the one that has come in, run them into the ground… lots of injuries with his absurd brand of training, and then played most of them out of position or in odd playing forms for the entire season. I’ve grown used to people calling me a plastic fan because I’ve said it from the beginning that DM is not the right man for the job. I understand why Fergie wanted to give a fellow countryman a chance…but it simply hasn’t worked out. I expect that they will back him for at least 2 seasons to save face; but it will take us a minimum of a decade to recover because it will cost us players who want to leave (like RVP) to play on winning teams. Rooney is a money player…he will stay because the new contract and money is good. RVP will leave because he could have gotten more money from city (he didn’t care about money, he wanted to be on a winning team). The draw that pulled RVP in is now gone. Players don’t want to come to United simply due to the name or power it used to imply, because it has become a joke or farce. This means it will cost us more to get top quality players…and let’s face it…with the Glazers at the helm and already likely in a panic at the net worth loss (meaning millions and millions of pounds of lost money to themselves/glazers) they are less likely to want to spend money openly to get top quality players. In short, I think we are in for a drought people….and it is likely to last 10-15 years, and could be longer…it simply depends on who they get to replace moyes when they finally come to their senses. It might also be smart to note that going on a buying spree does not mean you will be champions. I have seen both chelsea and PSG attempt to spend gloriously for players in hopes of getting to the top…and still not achieving it. It does make them contenders, but massive spending is never a guarantee that you will win any league/championship.

  2. Please post the photos of David Moist slouched against his chair while the game is happening. He has done this pathetic, ridiculous loser pose time and time again.

He is wayyy over his depth and he has no clue. All he knows is to play percentage football which means; to nullify the opponent and hope that your team plays very well i a defensive posture and that the opposing team does not play above themselves of play at their best. This footballing genius tactic of his has brought him a grand total of ZERO away wins in 50 attempts at getting a win against the traditional top 4 English sides.

He’s a fecking loser and I’ve always hated him for the way he celebrated when his Everton scored their equalising 4th goal against us in the 2011-2012 season. We needed to win that game and everyone knew it. When Everton scored, it was potently clear that out title charge took a heavy hit.

What did this useless SOB do? He celebrated as if he had won the Champions League. All he did was to put a huge dent against us from winning the PL. And he celebrated like a B*TCH in heat. I always hated him then. ANd I hate him even more now.

From the day he came to the club he’s been dissing the players and previous management for not being good enough to win the Champions League. He goes on to make almost every conceivable bad call/decision to undermine the team’s effectiveness.

He is beyond doubt a SOB and does not deserve any sympathy. FU DM!!!

  3. Here’s the SOB celebrating against us!!!

He has never ever slouched in his chair while at Everton. He does it almost every other game here. He never puts down his players at Everton. He does it on practically his first day here and continues to do so until today.

DM is a disease to Man United.

  4. If he managed a kindergarten football and slouched in his chair in that manner not once but a few times, the parents would have had him sacked!!!

Why are Manchester United wasting their time with this loser!

And here’s a video of P Neville trying to take off CRX7’s head!!! BASTARD!!!
