Sir Alex Ferguson was spotted in the Nou Camp as he embarked on an observing mission ahead of Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid. He saw Jose Mourinho’s men dismantle Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi final second leg.

United earned a creditable 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first leg of the last 16. The away goal gives us the advantage but Ronaldo and Co really sent a message out to our defenders tonight. The former Red was in terrifying form scoring twice.

The Manchester United manager was joined in the stands by coach René Meulensteen and assistant manager Mike Phelan.

Not for one second do I believe we should be worried by Madrid’s performance tonight. For all their failings this season, failing to turn up for big games isn’t one of them. Saying that, we have enough quality in our squad to go through. It will be a belter.
