London 2012: Two Reds picked for Team GB

Stuart Pearce has named 13 Englishmen and five players from Wales for his 18-man Team Great Britain squad for the Olympic Games this summer. Amongst them are Ryan Giggs and Tom Cleverley.

There is no place for David Beckham in Pearce’s squad. The English representative that helped bring the Olympics to London in the first place was snubbed by the former Manchester City manager. However, Ryan Giggs is joined by fellow Welshman Craig Bellamy and City defender Micah Richards as three permitted overage players.

    1. It should do Cleverley the world of good, fitness wise. His season went downhill last year due to injuries, so hopefully with the Olympics he will be set to take our trophy back from City.
