Ben Amos has joined Steve Bruce’s side on a season-long loan and now plans to join the team in Portugal for Hull’s pre-season tour.
Once the deal was finalised, the 22-year-old goalkeeper became Bruce’s first signing this summer as Hull City manager. Amos signed a three-year deal at United in May, so it’s clear that he is held in high regard at Old Trafford.
The young English goalkeeper previously spent time on loan at Oldham, Molde and Peterborough before making his Premier League debut for United against Stoke City last season. He was promoted to second choice goalkeeper in the first team last season when Anders Lindegaard got injured.
The fee paid for the loan is reportedly £250,000 and Amos will be their first choice despite Hull’s longest serving goalkeeper, Andy Dawson, recently being granted a one-year contract that will see him become eligible for a testimonial at the KC Stadium.
