There was lots of confusion in the air when it was confirmed that Paul Pogba wasn’t named in the squad to face Ajax at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
I sensed frustration amongst the majority of supporters with Ji-sung Park starting, as captain, in a more central position but others were much cooler about recent circumstances, particularly with rumours linking a certain French midfielder to Juventus.
Manchester United offered Pogba a contract promising £25,000 per week but Ferguson confirmed on Wednesday that there had been no progress whatsoever in the talks. Mino Raiola, his agent, is known for sealing good deals for his clients and is apparently demanding £40,000 per week from United.
That sort of money for a player that hasn’t even made half a dozen first team appearances is ludicrous and I can’t see Ferguson giving it any consideration. You must understand that we have lots of talent coming through the ranks and if one of them earns a certain amount they will all expect it; that’s not the way our club is run because you must prove yourself as a first team regular before even dreaming about earning that amount of money.
However, there are people that will say Pogba has not been given the chance to prove himself but at United you must have patience, especially being a youngster. If he expected to walk straight into our first team I’m afraid he needs to wake up and smell the coffee because things don’t work that way. Just look at Ravel Morrison, he thought he was untouchable and could get away with anything but now he finds himself with lower ambitions playing for West Ham, a Championship side.
On January 31, Paul Pogba was given an opportunity as a substitute against Stoke City. He didn’t put a foot wrong while on the pitch and showed immense composure while displaying other brilliant attributes, therefore, you simply cannot deny the fact he is a serious prospect. Although, it appears his mind isn’t set on playing for Manchester United which obviously worries me.
My heart wants Pogba to stay but my head tells me different, but whatever happens nobody will ever be bigger than the club and we will move. Ferguson has come out the better man in much tougher situations, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if Pogba cannot wise up.

I’m fed up with agents in football. All they are about is money for themselves no the good of a player. Pogba is what we need and him & Cleverly could be a very bright future. I wish Fergie would have given him more of an opportunity, especially playing Park & Fabio in there before him. But I’m sorry we are Man Utd and no one holds us to ransom (except Keane, Rio & Rooney). But they were all top of their games. I can’t understand why at such a young age he wants the money so quick? He has a great future infront of him & the money will come. I don’t expect to see him at OT next year and it will be a great shame for both parties. But we are Man Utd and our band waggon will keep on rolling. Bring on the youth.

my thoughts exactly,what angers me even more is how ungrateful our current youth team graduates have become,the likes of Welbeck play for less than 40,000 currently yet still give their all,at utd u dont have to chase money,it will find u if you are good enuff,Clvz,Chicha are examples. players want us to believe it is all their agents faults,i cant deny agents do influence decisions,but players can also speak their minds n make their intentions known,Valencia recently parted ways with his coz he was trying to turn his head,why cant others follow suite? I don’t think the largest proportion of the blame can be levelled at the youngsters. Pogba is obviously keen to play. This is a good attribute. He’s hungry! This was never a problem with United kids before. They knew they would get a chance, they were patient, they broke through and played over 500 games each for the best team on the planet.
I think that current situations are pressing on players. Agents, examples from other players, current salaries and media stories are all influencing the youngster’s decisons.
Whereas the Club could shield and protect them from these distractions until they could understand the selfish motives behind those trying to make a buck for themselves. Can’t disagree with a thing in what is a really well balanced piece. My only concern is just how, in the current set up, the younger players are going to get enough exposure to feel they have a future at Utd. Especially when we play players out of position or give game time to third rate squad players eg Gibson ahead of giving them a go. The Blackburn game for me was one where we could have given someone like Pogba a go. Instead, we play Rafael out of position and what do we learn other than he isn’t a PL central midfielder. This is modern football and the days of players staying for the love of a club are behind us, other than with a rare exception.

That is very right statement , my heart also want him to stay at our club , he was brilliant when he played against stoke , but with his attitude and especially his agent (Mino Raiola) , if I am not mistaken , he is also the agent for Tevez. And the case will be more difficult in the future , as we know what happened to Tevez. After all I think let him go is a better choice

Pogba is a talented youngster. He want to play more games in senior squad. If he moves for something like that we can understand why did he move away. But if he moves for big money a his elder age, it will be the baddest thing for him. If he look at the same age players like Jones, Chamberleine etc. he can see them getting regular playing time with the senior squad that may also a reason for his anticipated departure. In my opinion, he must stay with the club for good football rather than money of regular football.

I think the fact that united offered £25k shows how much they think off him I mean £25k for someone whose played about an hour of first team football. These youngster right now at united disgust me. Ravel who ended up leaving Pogba and now even Fryers rejectings contracts.
